Terms of Service

Last updated August 21, 2026

Gridlink Mail is free software provided as-is, with no account, no subscription, and no service run by us for you to depend on. These terms are short because there isn't much of a service to have terms about.

The software

Gridlink Mail is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. That license, not this page, governs your right to use, copy, modify, and redistribute the source code. Full source is public at github.com/tatelink/gridlink-mail. These Terms of Service cover your use of the built app and this website; where the two conflict on matters the GPL actually governs (copying, modifying, redistributing the code), the GPL controls.

Gridlink Mail is a fork of Sterna Mail by emon, reused under the GPLv3. It is not an official Sterna release and is not supported by emon.

No warranty

As with any GPLv3 software, Gridlink Mail is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use it at your own risk.

No account, no service to rely on

There is no Gridlink account and no Gridlink server standing behind the app. It connects directly to the mail server you configure. We do not guarantee compatibility with any particular mail provider, availability, or continued development, though the app is actively maintained at the time of writing.

Your responsibility

Support tips

If you choose to support development through Ko-fi, that is a voluntary tip, not a purchase of a service, subscription, or license. It does not create any additional obligation beyond what the GPLv3 already grants you as a user of free software.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the app, including data loss, to the extent such liability can be disclaimed under the GPLv3 and applicable law.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the project evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
