A fast, private JMAP and IMAP email client for Android. No ads, no tracking, no Google.
Gridlink Mail syncs faster, uses less battery and less data than a traditional IMAP client, because it's built around JMAP, the modern successor to IMAP, from the ground up. It still speaks classic IMAP and SMTP too, so it works with any standard mail provider — JMAP is not required.
There is no Gridlink account and no Gridlink server. The app talks only to the mail server you configure. It collects nothing, contains no ads, no tracking, and no Google libraries.
JMAP mail, with IMAP/SMTP fully supported as an alternative for any standard provider.
Synced over JMAP, with CardDAV and CalDAV fallback.
Type your address and let it find the server, or pick the protocol yourself.
A message can't phone home unless you let it.
Built in, for signing and encrypting mail.
Including servers using a self-signed certificate.
On unfolded and tablet-sized screens.
Undo send, scheduled send, and threaded conversations.
Gridlink Mail is a fork of Sterna Mail by emon (codeberg.org/emon/sterna-mail), reused under the GPLv3. The mail engine, sync layer, and OpenPGP support are emon's work; this fork rebuilds the front end and the setup flow. It is not an official Sterna release and emon does not support it. If you want the original, upstream is the better-tested and actively maintained app.
Full source, license, and commit history are public on GitHub.
Gridlink Mail is free, the source stays public, and it always will be. If it's useful to you and you'd like to support ongoing development, tips are appreciated and never required.
